    Chapter 5

"You saw them and you're not going to even try to arrest them?!" Luke exclaimed.

"I don't have any solid evidence against either of them," I said, then immediately realised this wasn't true. "Well, I could arrest Descole for murdering my mother, but I couldn't do anything with Clive."

    "Well, then let's go back!"

"They were on their way out when I saw them," I said. "They're probably long gone by now."

"Great. That's the only lead we have, and you let them go," Luke sounded awfully disappointed.

"That's not entirely true, Luke," I said. "Let's go back to the professor's office, and discuss our plan of action."

Once we were back at the University, the telephone started to ring. Luke got up and answered it. "It's for you."

    I took the phone …

    Chapter 3

I drove to the clock shop on Midland Road to see what I could find. This part of town was still under construction, even though it had been a year since the massive explosion. I walked over to where the clock shop would have been and surveyed my surroundings.

Ok, so there's no clock shop, no way underground, and no Descole, I thought. Great.

But then I noticed a strangely placed piece of wood, just lying on the ground near the end of the street. I walked over to it and slid it aside.

    Jackpot.

I knew that there had to be a way for Jean and Clive to get down into the sub-terraineous cavern, and this just happened to be it. I climbed the ladder down into the darkness, and when I reached the ground, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

    The …

    Chapter 1

Hershel Layton walked down the hall of Gressenheller University, rummaging through his mail. He was extremely happy, for the world had been treating him well, lately. He had just been given a promotional raise in income (not like he needed it), Luke Triton had recently moved back to London, and Hershel and I had just gotten together. In short, life was good. He walked into his office to find Luke and myself waiting for him. I was sitting behind his desk, and the look on my face was very serious.

Hershel exhaled. "This can't be good."

"You're right, it's not. As you know, Jean Descole escaped prison with Clive Dove, and knowing Descole, he's bound to be looking for something," I said.

"Do you have any ideas?" asked Luke.

    "Do you know w…

Ok, this is my second fan fiction, Professor Layton and the Power of Aslant. If you haven't already, read my first fan fic, Professor Layton and the Psychic Detective, to avoid spoilers and to get an idea of what the heck is going on. This is just the prologue, but the first and second chapters should be up soon. Enjoy!

    Prologue to the prologue

The prologue takes place just before the ending of my first fan fiction, then the main story takes place a week after the ending.

    Prologue

"Would it kill you to hurry up, kid?" Descole urged the young man. "This is our only chance for escaping, and you're going to get us both caught if you don't work faster!"

"Ok, first of all, don't call me 'kid'," said the teenager. "Second of all, have you ever tried to pic…

    Run Away

I ran my fingers through my hair, trying to stay awake.

'Sarah? Are you still up?' asked my father, Hershel Layton.

'Might be.' I said, tapping away on my keyboard, my eyes glued to my computer screen.

'Go to bed Sarah.' he said, looking in. 'It's one in the morning.'

    'Alright Father.' I said.

He left, but no sooner then I was back on the computer. I was searching for someone. I smiled as I found him.

    Jean Descole.

The next morning, I slung my bag on my back.

    'Off out!' I called.

    'Be careful!' called my father.

    'Will be!'

I went out the door, and headed off.

'I hate maps.' I muttered about half an hour later, turning it round, and then again.

I looked round and set off.

'Dam it, I never thought he would be this far away.' I said once night had fallen.

    It…

It was an early start this morning. I had Clova jumping on the bed yelling at me to get up. This was about 5:30 am. Too early! But I did as she said as we do have a lot to prepare this morning. In a split second, me and Clova were downstairs in the lounge, waiting for Sharon. Then Renee arrived and said that we should go and get our hair done at the salon. I was suprised when she said that they opened especially early for us, but I liked it!

By 6:30am we were back at the hotel. As we were the only ones in what seemed like the whole hotel who were up, we decided to go around and explore some more. This place was one of those big, old buildings, not just some dodgy Premier Inn. Not saying there is anything wrong with a Premier Inn, but you kn…

As we walked into the swimming pool room we heard this splash, and saw what looked like an Olympic swimmer dart up and down the pool. We just stood there and watched, well Katia and Yula couldn't wait to get in. The pool was massive, and there was a jacuzzi! The girl just kept on swimming until she finally got out the pool. We still watched her with just a hint of jealousy fromm Flora.

"Sister!" yelled Kelly and she ran over and dived in the pool and swam over to the ladder.

"Kelly, what do you want?" she said.

Then she turned o look at us. She was so beautiful, Flora just stormed off into the jacuzzi.

"This is my older sister, Renée Verdant." Kelly said.

Well, it's that time again. Puzzle Project time that is! OK, today is a little late to do one of these, I know. But, oh well, this is edition 18 of the "Wattz Review" and I'm telling you that there's still lots of work to be done.

There's still A LOT of work that needs to be done.

    • Over 150 pages still need to be made.
    • The remaining (not on Blogspot either) 20 or so Weekly Puzzles aren't up yet.

With that being said, there's hundreds of images that need uploading, pages to be made, and an index page needing some fixes. Now then, this is a simple task to achieve. There's a few easy steps to take; here's an easy way to make a page:

"Ah, Descole. Just the man I wanted to see."

    • Brittney's full name is 'Brittney Lee Anise Earnhardt'.
    • She prefers to call Professor Layton by his first name, Hershel, but not when he can hear.
    • She studied at Saint Burns High School, with Layton, but was only an acquaintance of his. Thus, she is acquainted with Sharon Leidle and Lando Ascad, also.
    • She also knows how to play the piano.
    • She knows Emmy Altava from the Scotland Yard, since she is known for stopping by to work on a case. This is because Brittney's earliest case was the Crown Petone and Descole's game for 'eternal life', so she couldn't have known Emmy from an earlier time.
    • She is proud of her 'curves'.

Clive just sat there while Janice giggled. Considering we were best friends the age gap between us is pretty big, seven or six years, I think. Same with me and Yula, 7 years again.

"Game anyone?" Janice said holding up a Pool-stick-thingy.

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time for the final chapter of the Lost Grimoire. I hope you enjoy the ending of this fan-fiction.

The dark skies covering the once-peaceful London begin pouring rain. Luke begins running through the dampening streets, courageous and determined. Barton, entrusted by Don Paolo, follows Luke into the night, but much to his avail, gets lost in a pitch-black alleyway. Luke looks around the corners of the streets and begins pondering what way he should take. With a firm "I know I can do this" look, he clinches his fists and runs through to the next block. As he finds himself farther and farther from the Professor, Luke stars going slower and begins looking back toward the way he came from. Luke begins thinking that…

Don Paolo eventually sees the car Barton's driving and prepares for a landing. Luke and Flora tell Barton to slow down upon noticing the flying machine falling from the skies. Well, people, time for the fifth part of the Lost Grimoire. Yeah, much later than I wanted. Oh well. Here it goes!

With the two staring each other down, Professor Layton and the masked figure walk in a circle, holding their blades against each other. The shadow-like man puts his blade upward and begins to come at Layton. Layton quickly dodges and achiveves a verticle slice at the man. The, holding his sword in both hands, blocks the attack and focuses his strength in attacking the professor. He begins hacking maddeningly and Layton barely dodges each attack, some of which caused him to do some "flexible" thinking. Layton rushes with his sword, but the man blocks yet another strike. The two battle it out and their swords repeatedly clash.

"So you finally showed up. How brave. Come in and we will tell you the mystery." came a voice. Descole's voice. He took us all in and we sat down, and he told us the mystery.

"You are probably wondering why Claire, Sophia, and Melina are h…
