Chapter 1: The Mask Of Chaos[]

Professor Hershel Layton, Luke Triton and Emmy Altava bumped into Frankie on the way to the Ledore Mansion. Frankie claimed to be suspicious of Layton’s claims that Angela Ledore invited them to see her, and refused to let them pass. Connor arrived soon after, and offered to help sort the issue out with a battle of wits. The rules were as follows: Connor would hide a ball under a cup, swap them around, and whoever successfully guessed the cup the ball is hidden under would be the winner. Luke took Frankie on at the game. Frankie guessed first, and was right. Emmy then took her turn. Frankie went first and picked the correct cup once more. Finally, Layton took part in the game. As Frankie was about to make his guess, Layton requested that he guess first this time. Connor obliged and Layton guessed the correct cup. Ashamed at Frankie for losing, Connor told him to leave and allowed Layton and company to pass. After he left, Layton told Luke and Emmy that the entire game was a con, as Connor was always pointing one finger towards the correct cup. He concluded that Connor and Frankie were in league.

Chapter 3: The Battle Of Monte d’Or[]

Layton and company bumped into Connor again the next evening. Layton was certain that Connor reminded him of a puzzle, but Emmy convinced him to abandon that train of thought.

Chapter 5: Miracles Unmasked[]

The following evening, Layton, Luke and Emmy heard about a disturbance in the Scorpion Casino. They found it odd, considering the Masked Gentleman had announced that he would appear in Pumpkin Park that night, but went to the casino to investigate regardless. It turned out that the disturbance was caused by Frankie complaining to the manager, Drake, about losing all of his chips. Layton’s attempts at defusing the confrontation led to Frankie turning on him, and once more, Connor stepped in to resolve the argument. He presented a 3 by 3 grid with a numbered chip on each square, and challenged them to move the chips so that the numbers in each row and column added up to 15, while touching as few chips as possible. Frankie presented a solution that required him touch four chips, but, by using chips to push other chips, Layton managed to complete the task by only touching two chips. Also, Layton’s solution had the diagonals add up to 15 as well, making a complete magic square puzzle. Having lost once more, Frankie left the casino, and Connor pretended to have no affiliation to him.

Chapter 7: The Reunion Inn[]

While searching for a book left to them by the Masked Gentleman, Layton, Luke, Emmy and Mordy went to the Reunion Inn’s Emerald Suite. Connor and Frankie were staying there and refused to let Layton investigate unless he solved a puzzle first. Layton solved the puzzle and found the book, which the Masked Gentleman had hidden without the knowledge of Frankie and Connor.

UK Version

Trivia[]

  • His name is derived from "con", which means "to persuade (someone) to do or believe something, typically by use of a deception", which it fitting since that's exactly what he does for a living.
