After Sophia, a prominent figure in Dropstone had passed away, Dorothea worked with the rest of Mr. Anderson's staff to secretly get Katia, Sophia's granddaughter to Folsense. This was to ensure that she got to see her grandfather, as Sophia had wanted.

One of the many servants in the Anderson house, Dorothea's main duties involve looking after Katia, though the two are actually close in age. Perhaps it's this closeness in age that causes Katia to turn to Dorothea when she wants to talk.
