Felicity Hastings is a character appearing in Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy and Layton Mystery Detective Agency: Kat's Mystery-Solving Files. She is the wife of Inspector Ercule Hastings.
Biography[]
Appearance[]
Felicity is a slightly thick woman with lavender hair and blue eyes. She wears a blue jacket over a plain white shirt, a brown belt with a heart-shaped buckle, black pants and dark red high heels. She also has a bracelet and a wedding ring on her right hand.
Personality[]
Felicity feels alone most of the time as a result of her husband always being at work, even on festive days. Despite this, both love each other more than anything and spend their short times together happily.
Plot[]
Millionaires' Conspirancy[]
She makes a brief appearance in Case 2: Murder on the Thames on Chancer Lane, where she tells Katrielle Layton about Vic and Tim, musical theatre performers who were presumably killed on River Thames that night. She doesn't believe that Vic could have jumped onto the river to take her own life, as she saw her at Aleks Lipski's pâtisserie the day before.
Her most prominemt role is later on the game, in Case 9: The Battle of Hastings. Here, it is her birthday, which also happens to fall on the same date as Godwin's Day. Inspector Hastings forgot about this and didn't get a gift for her in time. Even worse, every shop is closed as it is a festive day, but Hastings still has to work at Scotland Yard, as such he has no way to gift her something. As the night falls, everyone in London goes back home, and Katrielle sets up a plan for the couple: calling 168 specific houses in the city so that they can turn all of their lights on. While Ercule and Felicity are standing on a hill on the far distance of the city, they see how the lights on the buildings turn on to form the words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY FELICITY". This makes them happier than ever, and she thanks Katrielle by sending her a lemon cake, Felicity's speciality.

The wife of Inspector Hastings. She's a very kind woman who supports her husband's demanding job. She married him after an unusual display of feelings by the inspector, it seems.
Trivia[]
- She is named after Felicity Lemon, Hercule Poriot's secretary from the Agatha Christie novels.
- Her nickname "My Little Lemon" is a further reference to this.
- Her name also bares resemblance to the word "felicitations", meaning words that are used for praising an achievement or special occasion—in case 9, she celebrates her birthday.
