Biography[]
Zappone claims to be a detective and is elated to meet a fellow sleuth like Layton.
He also claims to have the inside scoop, but he's really just clueless.

History[]
Professor Layton and the Curious Village[]
While Professor Layton and Luke are looking for Ramon at St. Mystere, they go to the Fork in the Road, they can talk to Zappone, and he says he will answer their question if they solve his puzzle. However, after solving it, he seemingly forgets about it and only gets surprised of how amazing their detective skills are, compared to him.
Later at night, he can be seen inside at Crumm's where the player can talk to him again and will give the player another puzzle.
The next day, when Layton and Luke are looking for a close friend of the Baron, he is standing outside Crumm's again at the Fork in the Road. He says he never had any close relationship with the Reinhold family, indicating he is not the person the professor and Luke were looking for.
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future[]
While Zappone himself does not appear in the game, he appears as a collectible sticker for the Picture Book, called "the tutor".
Puzzles[]
Like all of the other characters who live in St. Mystere, he gives Layton and Luke puzzles. These include "Island Hopping" and "The Town Barbers".
