He knows the secrets behind Dropstone and Sophia, and is very saddened but supportive when Katia leaves for Folsense, having known her since she was a small child.

Jacques is the patient butler to the Anderson Family, which means he knows the family's history as well as its secrets. One of his main tasks is watching after young Katia. He rallies the other servants to give her a warm send-off.
