Joanie is a minor character in Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. She is a young girl that can be found on the promenade located on the south side of Folsense, outside of the antique shop.
However, Joanie, along with the rest of Folsense and its residents, turned out be an illusion created by a gas coming from Herzen Castle. The real Joanie existed fifty years ago, the illusion of her disappears when the castle collapsed clogging up the hole where the gas spewed out.

Joanie is a young, fair-skinned girl with short, brown hair, blush stickers, and black, beady eyes. She wears a long-sleeved lavender shirt, a lavender collar fastened around her neck with a red button, a short pink skirt, white stockings, and brown shoes.

She has a straight and fearless attitude which makes her popular in the northeast part of Folsense. She loves cute things.

Joanie gives Layton and Luke a puzzle. This puzzle is "How Old Am I?".
