In the beginning years of his career, Rector directed several fringe B films, such as a low-quality action triller titled "Sines: Close Equations of the Third Kind" which caused the its producer to go bankrupt, an untitled old cult film which had a figurine, and "Mad Machs: Supersonic Soup Kitchen", whose final scene shows the protagonist's father sinking in a giant vat of soup while giving a thumbs-up.

In later years, he changed his movie style to appeal the masses, much to the discontent of his co-workers and fans.

Millionaires' Conspiracy[]

In Case 3: The Stolen Kiss, it was the day of the release of his latest romance film, "A Naval Advance: No Sub for Love" at the Saveloy Theatre in London. Katrielle Layton, Ernest Greeves, Emiliana Perfetti and the Seven Dragons attended to the premiere as special guests.

However, just as the final scene with the kiss was about to happen, the film abruptly ended. Perfetti and later Rector blamed it on Eddie Torre, the movie's editor, as Rector knew that Torre was not pleased with the movie and specially the kiss scene. Katrielle ended up discovering that the true culprit was the projectionist Seymour Fraymes's pet myna bird, who had defecated on the movie reel. This left the projectionist with no choice other than cutting off the dirtied section of the reel.

Later, the reel was fixed using an old footage of a younger Rector kissing his wife at the bow of a cruiser ship. The movie was an absolute success.

Rector later makes a small apperance on Case 8: Goddess of the Thames, boarding the Thametanic. He tells that the machines on the cruiser ship's engine room give him an idea for a new film.
