Pre-Game[]

Before the events of Curious Village, the park was a gift from the baron to his daughter Flora to make her happy after the loss of her mother, Lady Violet. Sadly, it failed to make her happy, and over time the villagers stopped visiting. The park is maintained by Sylvain, who stopped unlocking the gates each day when it failed to attract visitors.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village[]

Layton Ferris Wheel

The Ferris Wheel in the park.

When Professor Layton and Luke are unable to access the amusement park, they ask Rodney about it, since he manages the town hall. Rodney tells Layton and Luke about Sylvain, the park manager, instructing them to find him in the sewers beneath St Mystere. Eventually, they find Sylvain and, after Layton helps him with a repair issue, he unlocks the gate to the park for them. Upon entering the park, Layton finds a poster of a young smiling girl with a Ferris wheel in the background. They begin to investigate the park for clues.

Ferris wheel Chase

Layton and Luke being chased by the Ferris Wheel.

Despite Layton's intuition, nothing about the wheel or the park itself is of any use to the investigation. They begin to make their way back towards the village when they're alerted to a creaking sound behind them. Against all odds, the Ferris wheel comes loose from its frame and begins to roll after them. They sprint away from it as it chases them through the park, narrowly misses them, and crashes through the locked waterside shack, landing in the pond with a splash. Layton manages to duck away with Luke before they can be hit. A figure hidden in the shadows elsewhere tucks a remote control away, upset that the Ferris wheel missed the two. Layton and Luke then investigate the remains of the shack, under which they discover a key to the tower in the village.

Park Path Fork[]

Park Path Fork.

The entrance to the abandoned park. Displayed at the entrance is a map detailing the locations of the attractions of the park, as well as a poster featuring Flora Reinhold. After years of neglect, the signs and posters are faded to the point of hardly being legible. The condition of this area is worsened after the Ferris wheel barrels through, with the map completely destroyed and the path littered with rocks, branches, and other debris.

Shack Path[]

CV 7 Shack Path

Shack path.

This path leads directly from the entrance of the park to the locked waterside shack near the pond. There is another abandoned wooden structure on this path, but it looks significantly worse for wear. It's here that Sylvain warns Layton and Luke to be careful while exploring the park, since most of the location is in very poor condition and therefore could be dangerous. The incident with the Ferris wheel leaves this path littered with debris. A completely broken lamppost has fallen across the ground.

Waterside Shack[]

CV 7 Waterside Shack

Waterside shack.

Beside a pond on the north side of the park is an abandoned old shack, which Layton assumes is used to pump water to the sewer pipes. Otherwise, there is little indication of what purpose the structure serves. The door is securely chained up and padlocked to stop anyone from entering. Later, the shack is destroyed by the Ferris wheel. What remains of the Ferris wheel can be seen in the pond behind it.

Abandoned Tent[]

CV 7 Circus Tent

Abandoned tent.

Near the Ferris wheel is a big top tent, which would likely have been used for a circus. Layton questions why what was clearly a travelling funfair was left to rot in St Mystere. Both the tent and the beverage stand next to it are in some state of visible disrepair. The Ferris wheel rolling through the park completely crushes the tent to the ground. Debris is left scattered across the path.

Ferris Wheel[]

CV 7 Ferris Wheel Top

The Ferris wheel.

The Ferris wheel is the main featured attraction in the park. After being neglected for so long, it has fallen into a state of disrepair, so much so it could never operate safely again. Don Paolo is able to make modifications to the structure so that it can be steered with a remote control, and so the Ferris wheel is used in an attempt to take out Layton and Luke. After it has rolled away and crashed into the lake, the space where the Ferris wheel once was is occupied by nothing but the bent metal frames that used to hold it in place.

Under the Shack[]

CV 7 Under the Shack

Under the shack.

The area under the shack is mostly occupied by old stone hallways, which are accessed via a staircase. Moss grows on the ceiling, walls, and floor due to the cold and damp environment beneath the pond. Towards the end of the hallway is a puzzle on the wall that, when solved, displays an arrow that points in the correct direction.

Underground Path[]

Following the correct route leads to another underground corridor, similarly dark and covered in moss. At the end of the corridor is a wooden door with a lamp on the wall above it.

Underground Area[]

CV 7 Underground Room

The underground area.

The underground area at the end of the corridor, hidden behind a door, is filled with treasures from the old times of St. Mystere such as framed pictures and paintings, although the room is also damp and filled with moss. The primary light source is a candle on the wall. Behind one of the paintings is hidden a key that physically resembles the tower of St. Mystere.
