Full titles for all games are available on the wiki.
Publisher: LEVEL-5 (Japan only), Nintendo (Other regions)
Description: The Professor Layton series is a series of Puzzle/Adventure video games, in which players have to solve various puzzles while they advance through the main story of the game.
Similar games: The series is rather unique with its combination of exploration and puzzles, but various other series require thinking outside the box:
Genres: Puzzle/Adventure - Gameplay alternates between exploring the world of Professor Layton and solving puzzles when they are encountered.
Playthrough Length: Varies - Depending on how many of the optional puzzles in the game are solved, it may take anywhere between a few hours to several days (sometimes more).
Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate - Puzzles in the game vary greatly in difficulty level. The difficulty of a puzzle is measured in Picarats, a sort of in-game scoring system. These Picarats can then be used to unlock various bonus content in the game.

Some puzzles may require simple mathematics or a "thinking outside the box" approach to solve. Most puzzles in the game can be skipped and solved at a later time. Not all puzzles have to be solved to complete the game. Solutions for puzzles are available in our Puzzle Database.

Security Concerns: None

Multiplayer Information

Multiplayer: All games feature only Single player modes. No local or online multiplayer is included in any of the games.
