A Dog of Tiles is a puzzle in Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.

You have a selection of coloured 2 x 2 tiles, and you want to use them to make the dog shown on the top screen.

Can you layer the tiles in this 7 x 7 grid and recreate the dog in question? Note that the grid contains four squares where tiles cannot be placed.

Click a Tab to reveal the Hint.

Each of your panels has 2 x 2 squares, and the white ones that make up the background need to be positioned all around the edge of the grid.

Place these white tiles around the edge now. You'll need to use eight of them, assuming you make sure none overlap.

This puzzle becomes surprisingly easy if you start by focusing on the dog's legs and tail. After placing the white background tiles as described in Hint 1, place two brown tiles next to each other on the second and third rows from the bottom. Make sure they don't overlap.

Once you've done this, touch the white tile that's under both of them. The tile will move to the top, creating the dog's legs.

Continuing from Hint 2, place another brown tile directly above the tile that forms the dog's hind legs, making sure the two don't overlap. Now them cover the top-left corner of this brown title with the last white tile, and your dog's tail is complete.

Your dog now has front legs, hind legs and a tail!

After working through the previous hints, take your red tile and place it so that its top-left corner is in the second row from the top and the third column from the left. Cover the bottom half of it with a brown tile, then use another brown tile to cover its left side, leaving only the top-right corner visible.

You've now used all your tiles, but you aren't quite finished. Can you see what you have to do to make the dog's nose?

Look at that wagging tail!

It seems you're a tile-art master!
