Chess Battle is a puzzle in Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. It is part of a Special Episode, and must be solved during that episode to continue.

Puzzle

Two opposing sets of knight chess pieces are engaged in battle. In order to win, your chess piece must topple the enemy pieces scattered across the board.

Chess knights move two squares forwards and one square perpendicular on each turn. The initial direction can be up, down, left or right.

Be careful. The board is filled with pits and spaces that will move your piece in the direction shown.

At first sight this puzzle looks rather daunting, but fear not. It is not as difficult as it may seem.

A good starting point would be the spot just left of the knight standing below you.

Move up one space and right two spaces to ride the moving panel to a clear space. From here it's three short moves to topple the enemy in the bottom right-hand corner.

Next, start to make your way around the board in an anticlockwise fashion.

You should be able to defeat the four enemies in the centre of the board.

That leaves only one remaining!

Enemy 6: seven moves
