Engine Parts is a puzzle in Professor Layton and the Last Specter. The puzzle must be solved in order to progress the story.

## Puzzle

There are six loose parts of a steam engine here. Se if you can fit them together to complete the engine. You need to use all the parts to succeed.

Here's a tip: don't be too "flat" with your thinking.

## Hints

US Version

Take a good look at the parts, and think about which ones go together.

UK Version

Take a good look at the parts and think about which ones go together.

Doesn't it seem as though you have too many parts to fit in the frame? You need to think of how to put this engine together in three dimensions.

This engine is actually constructed in tiers. There are four parts on the bottom tier and two parts in the top tier.

US Version

The two parts that form the top tier fit into a perfect 5x5 square. If you combine all the parts on the bottom, this square will become apparent.

That should complete the engine.

## Solution

### Correct

Correct!

US Version

That engine you've put together looks awfully old and worn. I wonder what it powers?

UK Version

The tricky part is building the base. Once you do that, it's clear where the last two pieces have to go. It doesn't even matter which way you rotate them.

That engine looks awfully old and worn, though. What could it possibly power?
