Light the Forest 1 (Light the Way 1 in the UK version) is a puzzle in Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. The puzzle must be solved in order to progress the story.

Use lamps to light up the dark forest paths! For each lamp, assume its light reaches to the end of any straight road. Use the fewest lamps possible to light all of the paths.

US Version

The straight paths are easy enough to contend with because a lamp will light an entire straight path end to end.

The problem is the diagonals. So think about how to light all the diagonal paths first.
