17 - Out of Time

Out of Time is a puzzle in Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. The puzzle must be solved in order to progress the story.

Puzzle

Make your way through the maze of strange clocks and to the goal.

You can only move in the direction of the clock hands. With each step you take, the clock hands will rotate 90 degrees, so take care.

However, note that the clock hands on the purple clocks appear to rotate at three times the speed of regular clocks. Better watch your step!

It all starts with a first step.

Take that first step and have a look at the board. Moving downwards does not seem to be an option.

That leaves only one direction.

Remember, purple clocks spin faster than normal. Three times faster to be exact.

That means the minute hand will move forward 45 minutes instead of 15 minutes.

Now it's just a matter of calculating the clock's movement as you proceed.

From the start, continue right five spaces, and then down one space.

Then, move left on to the empty space. From here, move down one space and back up to the empty space. Lastly, move back down one space.

From the spot in Hint 3, move right.

The trick here is to move back and forth from one spot to another, and back again.

So that's right, down, up, down...

You made it!

The last minute change to the rules of the maze was clearly not enough to catch you out!
