When placed in their correct locations, all seven stars will sit in different rows from the others, vertically, horizontally, and diagonally.

Only the three lighter-colored stars can be moved. Can you place them in their correct locations?

UK Version

Here is a sketch of the stars on a piece of graph paper. It's not quite right, though, as the seven stars aren't all in the correct place at the moment.

When placed in the correct squares, each star will sit in different rows from the others vertically, horizontally and diagonally.

Can you move the three yellow stars to their correct positions?

Hints

Click a Tab to reveal the Hint.

US Version

Try using the Memo function to block out the rows that are already used by the four fixed stars. Remember, you need to make sure that no two stars share a row in any direction: vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.

Once you block out the rows already occupied by the fixed stars in each direction, you'll have to clearer idea about where to move the others.

UK Version

Try using the Memo Function to block out the vertical, horizontal and diagonal rows that already have a fixed star in them.

With those squares out of the picture, you'll have a much better idea of where to place the three yellow stars.

US Version

There are actually two different ways to solve this puzzle. here are some hints to lead you toward one of them:

Place the first movable star in the third square from the right on the bottom row.

When placing the other two stars, be sure they don't line up with any other star in any direction.

UK Version

There are actually two possible solutions to this puzzle. These hints will point you towards one of them:

Place the first yellow star in the third square from the right on the bottom row. Now, when placing your remaining two stars, just put them in squares that don't line them up with another star horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

US Version

Put the second movable star into the squares that's on square over from the left and three squares up from the bottom.

UK Version

Continuing from Hint 2, place the second yellow star in the second square from the left, on the third row from the bottom.

Just one to go now!

US Version

Put the last star in the center square. That should do it!

Once you've got them all in place, however, feel free to check and make sure no two stars are lined up in any direction.

UK Version

Put the last yellow star in the square right in the centre of the grid.

Once it's all in place, you might want to check your answer to make sure you've positioned everything correctly.
