091 - A Ship of Tiles092 - Tank Goodness093 - Stacks of Stock

Tank Goodness is a puzzle in Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy.

Puzzle

This rotating fish tank is home to a number of colourful fish. These tropical creatures are rather shy, and prefer to spend their days hiding in dark places. They are also very curious, however, and the slightest shake or vibration causes them to dash out of their hiding places to investigate.

Can you count how many fish are in this tank? Look carefully!

Hints

Click a Tab to reveal the Hint.

The sheer number of fish in this tank makes it easy to get confused. Start by counting the fish that are notably different to the others for whatever reason.

Feel free to rotate the tank as much as you like. You won't frighten the fish or send them into hiding.

They may be a little distracting, but the fish that are moving are actually easier to count than the stationary ones.

There are three moving fish in total.

In addition to the moving fish, you also have a little over ten stationary fish.

Count up the stationary fish and add your three moving fish to this amount. That's all there is to it.

Is it really, though? Are you sure there aren't any shy fish hiding anywhere?

Read the puzzle text again carefully. These fish "spend their days hiding in dark places". There obviously aren't enough hiding places for all the fish in the tank, but there are still a couple of crevices where a fish or two could hide.

Gently shake your Nintendo 3DS system to pique their curiousity and persuade them to swim out into the open!

Solution

Incorrect

Too bad.

Counting them all up can be tricky, so take your time and try again.

Correct

That went swimmingly!

There are 17 fish in the tank - two of which were hiding very well!
