One day, a boy noticed something peculiar while looking at his favorite calendar.

"Today's date is a quarter of the number shown a week ago, and a third of the number shown two weeks ago."

What month and day is it today?

Today's date is one quarter of the number displayed exactly one week ago.

In other words, it is four times today's number. The highest date any month can have is 31. Knowing that, you should be able to narrow down your options.

The dates one week ago and two weeks ago are seven days apart and must be factors of seven. Today's date must be the 7th of the month.

For the number shown one week ago to be 28, last month must be February. Therefore, today is the 7th of March.
