Shmarton (Barmey in the British version) is an antagonist in Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. He is a member of the Family who works directly under Bostro and bears an uncanny resemblance to Barton. He is partners with Shmelmey, whom he considers his "bruv".
Appearance[]
Shmarton is a short man with pale skin, orange hair, and small eyes with a with a small brow ridge over them. He sports a big handlebar mustache, curved sideburns, and two tufts of hair that stick out of the side of his head. He wears a grey jacket over a white collared shirt with a red tie, black pants, and light brown shoes.
Plot[]

Shmarton is seen first with Shmelmey when Layton and Luke go to the gate to Chinatown. Luke's parrot must mimic Bostro's voice in order to get them to leave. Later they are seen in the warehouse area of Chinatown in the north. Even more later they are inside the towering Pagoda. Future Luke solves their puzzle and Layton and co. advance another level of the pagoda. Later on, in the research facility, near the end of the game, they are seen another time and are knocked down and out by a heavy crate.

Puzzles[]
Shmelmey and Shmarton give Layton and Luke a couple of puzzles during a course of the game. These puzzles are "Photo Finish", "Cave Cover-up" and "Roped In".

Shmarton is an underling of Bostro's who looks remarkably like Constable Barton and eats like him too. He hangs around with his brother Shmelmey and is useless without him. He is a regular customer at Pepper's Noodle Palace.
