Shmelmey (Chelton in the British version) is a member of the Family and is an antagonist in Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. He looks strikingly similar to Inspector Chelmey.
Plot
Shmelmey was seen first with Shmarton when Layton and Luke went to the gate into Chinatown. Luke's parrot had to mimic Bostro's voice in order to make them leave. Later they were seen in the warehouse area of Chinatown in the north. Even more later they were inside the towering Pagoda. Future Luke solved their puzzle and they advanced another level of the pagoda. In the research facility, near the end of the game, they were seen another time and were knocked out by a heavy crate.
Puzzles
Shmelmey and Shmarton give Layton and Luke a couple of puzzles during a course of the game. These puzzles are "Photo Finish", "Cave Cover-up" and "Roped In".
