Shmelmey is a character appearing in Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. He was a member of the Family. His character was a parody of Inspector Chelmey, who had a similar name, look and behaviour. He was always seen with his "bruv" Shmarton, with whom he was usually together (just like Chelmey and Barton are), and most people mistake then for actually being brothers. They are found by Professor Layton and Luke Triton several times while they tried to make their way through Chinatown, to, and up the towering Pagoda.
Shmelmey was seen first with Shmarton when Layton and Luke went to the gate into Chinatown. Luke's parrot had to mimic Bostro's voice in order to make them leave. Later they were seen in the warehouse area of Chinatown in the north. Even more later they were inside the towering Pagoda. Future Luke solved their puzzle and they advanced another level of the pagoda. In the research facility, near the end of the game, they were seen another time and were knocked out by a heavy crate.
Puzzles
Shmelmey and Shmarton give Layton and Luke a couple of puzzles during a course of the game. These puzzles are "Photo Finish", "Cave Cover-up" and "Roped In".
