Witch Trials (also called group trials[1]) are the trials that will take place in Layton-kyōju VS Gyakuten Saiban. Phoenix Wright will have to defend his clients who have been accused of witchcraft.
In contrary to the games of the Ace Attorney series, there will be no cross-examinations. Instead, Phoenix has to take on a group of witnesses directly[1]. Witnesses can join or leave whenever they see fit. This results in a more chaotic gameplay, which is used to show how a trial in the middle ages would be like. This new gameplay system is referred to as "Gunshuu Saiban" (lit. Mob Judgement).
